The past week had been quite rough for Jeffree Star after he faced some serious criticism on social media over his newly launched Cremated makeup line. It seems that many fans aren’t quite thrilled with Star choosing the name Cremated for his new product and also that he had planned to release it in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per news, the 34 year old beauty influencer took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday and spoke up about the backlash by sharing a video on which he defended his recent business decision. He further explained that everything that he did came from good place.

Jeffree Star Responds To Criticism Over His New ‘Cremated’ Eyeshadow Palette and stated that everyone is currently residing at their respective houses. The name Cremated is the second most trending right now on all of YouTube, and said that with such a huge response he is a little shook, Star added. He also said that he is well aware of the talks people are having over the name but ultimately it’s the product that it is successfully trending on Twitter, and also that it might be the talk of the town in present scenario.

Star added on how there’s a lot of positives and only a few negatives surrounding his product and that everyone is free to have their own opinion, and urges everyone to keep talking about Cremated.

Moreover, Star told his fans that he has never been someone to play as per the norms and that his new product is much more than just an eye shadow palette. The palette features shades like Eulogy, Hearse Obituary, Angel of Death, The Morgue, Gravedigger, Embalmed, and Angel of Death. Star further says that his new Cremated smoky eye line range has so many meanings.

Jeffree went onto explain that it is his art and he has skillfully created it for the world. He further added that it is most welcome for everyone to interpret it as per their imagination and that they must derive it in different ways. While entertaining a massive follower base of 16.1 million, Star noted that even his father was cremated, and also were his two dogs that passed away last year.

He added that everything he does never comes from a negative space in his life, and unfortunately if people take it in a negative sense then that is how they articulate the matter, which is not his concern.

The newly launched Cremated range was originally posted by Star on Friday, May 15, and immediately after the post, his fans started voicing their respective objections to the name, and also the tone of the new product.

One fan went ahead to write that the name wasn’t working out for them considering how many families have lost their loved ones in the recent weeks. While another commenter wrote that it was quite inappropriate of him to launch a product titled Cremated mainly at a time when thousands out there are dying.

A very unhappy fan shared in how he lost his mother last year and that she was cremated. He even wrote how disgusted everyone feels with the name of the palette as if everything is a matter of joke to him given that he is a millionaire.

Many added that the name was a low blow and even though they completely love Jeffree Star’s makeup ranges they would however never buy another one of his products ever again.

However, apart from several criticisms which Star faced, there were plenty of his loyal fans who spontaneously came out to his defense and told the critics that there is absolutely no wrong and no need to get offended over a makeup product.
