Tiger Woods Urges The People To Change Their Ways And Requests For A Peaceful Protest

The golf-legend Tiger Wood has extended his support to the nationwide protest against the murder of George Floyd by policemen in Minneapolis.

In his recent social media post, Tiger Woods calls for peaceful protests after George Floyd’s killing – ‘We can make our points without burning our own neighborhoods’. , In the post, he has urged his countrymen for a ‘safer, unified society’, which can be achieved by continuing their fight for justice peacefully.

Even though the nation is blaming the whole police department for the longtime suffering of the black community, the golfer expressed respect for the law enforcement system.

He rather explained that this was an unfortunate event the protectors of law crossed the line of where to use force and how much.

He stated on his social media that his heart goes for George Floyd, his loved ones, and to all of the people who are hurting right now. He always had the highest respect for law enforcement. The police trains assiduously diligently to understand how, when, and where to use force. This shocking tragedy clearly crossed that line. He reminisced about the LA riots by saying that he learned that education is the best path forward.

He further added that people can make their points without burning the very neighborhoods that they live in, urging the angry protesters to abandon their violent ways. He hopes that through constructive, honest conversations a safer, unified society can be built.

George Floyd’s brother, Terrence talked about a similar, peaceful approach in a speech he gave in front of a group of protesters.

In the speech, Terrence had said that his family is a God-fearing, peaceful family. They are upset but they will not have a repetition of previous events of protests against police brutality. He explained to the protesters by saying that every time they all protest and destroy stuff, the injustice never ends. The stuff they are destroying is their own stuff, and this is exactly what the people they are protesting against, want them to do. So he urged them to do this differently.
