Call of Duty: Mobile Grosses $87 Million In Global Spending With Over 172 Million Downloads In Its First Two Months as distributed through two application stores.

Sensor Tower Intelligence, a mobile analyst platform said that the overall revenue of COD: Mobile has gone down since it first launched back in October that grossed about 146 million downloads just within its first month of release. In November, the sales for Call of Duty: Mobile reached another 21 million installations.

Calculating the revenue for the Call of Duty: Mobile, their biggest earning month was October that earned about $55 million with November displaying a total sales value of $31 million.

The following is a statistical list of countries that have spent the most on games in hierarchical order:

The United States accounts for the maximum buyers in this whopping revenue from where about $36 million were collected, making them stand with 42% overall contribution

Japan stands second in list averaging at an approximate $11 million in games spending with a 13.2% contribution to the revenue

The British come in third with a total expenditure of $2.6 million with a 3% overall contribution to the revenue

There were other countries too who made a substantial contribution to this revenue but did not make to the top three list. In terms of downloading, the US also emerged as the country with the most number of downloads followed by India and Brazil.

Google Play generated the most number of downloads that constituted about 52% of all with 89 million out of the aggregated 172 million. The iOS app store, on the other hand, contributed 48% of the total downloads that amounted to 83 million.

A compilation report released by Sensor Tower recently stated that although Call of Duty: Mobile saw a drop in sales compared to its post-launch success, it has still remained in the 25 top-grossing game titles in the extant gaming market. The report also stated the game’s new content and features have been released so dynamically that they can expect to see a substantial rise in their sales in the months to come. The success of Call of Duty: Mobile has had the game to be featured consistently as one of the most popular and successful titles in coming up with a mobile version in spite of having a huge market as a PC and console game.

In a different report posted by Sensor Tower, it is said that about 82% of the collective 29.6 billion newly launched application downloads in the third quarter of 2019 constitutes only 1% of application publishers. This report means that statistically speaking, 99% of game publishers have a 20% market share in the overall aggregate of about 6 billion downloads. In fact, just the top 1% of all such games accounted for a surprising 93% sale and 95% of the collective mobile game revenue in the app stores.

Google Play Store and App Store collectively contain over 3.4 million applications across the globe only in 2018 which is a 65% increase from their collection of 2.2 million applications in 2014. Sensor Tower also stated that among the percentage of applications that were downloaded 1,000 times or more has also seen a drop in the same time period which translated to 30% in 2014 as compared to 26% in 2018.

So, by looking at the whole report released by Sensor Tower what can be deduced is that the current market is exponentially evolving with game publishers trying to do outdo each other and garner a big portion of it. During times of such competition, the important thing for game publishers to remember is that the quality, designing, and content are competent enough to entice gamers into buying them.
