Malukah Becomes A Singing Sensation After The Mass Effect Tribute Album ‘Reignite’ Goes Viral

 

 

It was roughly eight years back when a singer by the name Malukah went viral for a tribute cover song which she had put out to coincide with the release of Mass Effect 3.

Even in the year 2012, the YouTube star was an unknown element, unless mass effect tribute album ‘Reignite’ released by viral internet singing sensation Malukah went amplifying and gained her instant popularity and acknowledgment by achieving over more than 7.4 million views.

Malukah is back once again and her latest tribute album is related to her original video from years back. As per reports, Malukah disclosed how important the song is to her life. She also revealed her struggling phase as a musician and the time when she had decided to give up on her dream and stop chasing them. And, surprisingly it was then when this cover video went viral.

Malukah shared on how she got reluctant to get back her hopes for making a living out of music but it was months later when she was writing the lyrics for the song Reignite that she realized, she was singing all those words back to herself, which urged her not to give up.

She shared how the words were not only meant for Shepard. After having realized, she cried her heart out and made up her mind to not give up on herself and her dreams, and even though she knew that the journey is going to be difficult she kept trying. The singer got emotional while saying how writing can be life-changing and make you realize things when you least expect them to happen.

As it goes, Reignite became an instant hit with the Mass Effect fandom. And at that particular time, Malukah had released only some videos singing songs from The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. And most notably The Dragonborn Comes.

The song Reignite featured her own original and authentic lyrics which were set to some background music from the Mass Effect trailer. The composition was also distributed with some footage from the trailer which made it appear like a mini music sort of video.

It was back then when officials at Bioware caught hold of Malukah and shared Reignite which further increased her visibility exponentially.

Speaking of the song, it is absolutely haunting and hypnotizing and the lyrics included truly speak to Shepard’s journey to save the Milky Way Galaxy from destruction at the hands of The Reapers.

The main chorus of the song is extremely appealing which shows Shepard singing; no matter what happens she will never surrender and will certainly free the Earth and the sky. Even if someone crushes her heart into embers she will still reignite.

Malukah said that Reignite is basically a tribute to Commander Shepard and also all of the Mass Effect characters who had given her company while playing the games.

The song Reignite has helped many support the conclusion of the original Mass Effect trilogy as u unfortunately, the Mass Effect 3’s ending had left a lot to be desired by most of the fans. The outrage had reached various levels which had compelled Bioware to release free DLC that was expanding on the ending in order to pacify the fan base.
