COVID-19 Causes Broadway star Nick Cardero To Have His Leg Amputated

The Coronavirus pandemic has spread its deadly grasp across the globe sparing none. Broadway star, Nick Cardero is among those who have been immensely affected by this global curse. According to the San Francisco Gate, the actor had a devastating effect after diagnosed positive of COVID-19 and had to have his right leg surgically removed due to some Coronavirus complications.

Amanda Kloots confirmed that Broadway star Nick Cardero has leg amputated after COVID-19 diagnosis, on her Instagram account on this Saturday. The actor has been resting and recovering after undergoing a painful ordeal. It is confirmed that the doctors had to put him on blood thinners to lessen the blood clots in his leg.

But soon they had to alter this procedure as the blood thinners were causing internal bleeding resulting in more blood clotting and could have caused an eventual death. The doctors had no other choice but to remove his right leg to save his life.

Nick reportedly went into the ICU on 31st March at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA after suffering from various complications. He was immediately hooked to a ventilator. His loving wife sent him daily videos of her and their 10-month-old son to uplift his spirit at the hospital.

A report by the San Fransisco Gate claims that besides Nick Cardero, various other Broadway actors like Danny Burstein, Gavin Creel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Aaron Tveit have been affected by this illness. A GoFundMe fundraiser for the actor, has raised over $200,000 since then.

With the number of infected reaching almost 1 million now and over 40,000 deaths in the country, the entertainment industry has already witnessed the death of Tony Award-winning playwright, Terrence McNally.

New York City has become the epicenter of the pandemic in the country with numbers increasing immensely every day. A lot of celebrities including Idris Elba, Colton Underwood, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Rachel Matthews, and Andy Cohen have been infected by the virus.

Before the United States was put under lockdown, actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita were among the first celebrities to announce that they had tested positive of COVID-19 while filming a movie in Australia.
