Accomplished in the field of research and a published author, Dr. Akhrass has had articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is an active member of several esteemed professional groups, including the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the Texas Medical Association.

An authority in his field, he is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism & internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
