#IndiaGives, a campaign initiated by media conglomerate Network18 ensures that the most vulnerable citizens of India remain safe by financially supporting them during the Coronavirus lockdown.

To start with more than 6000 employees of the Network18 group have joined hands to contribute a day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. This fund shall be used to provide aid and assistance to the daily wage workers whose livelihoods have been most affected due to the lockdown.

Hundreds and thousands of Indians have very little or no financial security. Of which 77.2% of the Indian households or approximately 200 million households are either self-employed or are engaged in casual labor. Therefore keeping those figures in mind, the coming three weeks lockdown due to the Corona virus would devastatingly hit those people.

Like a hand in distress, Network18’s journalists and other media brands like News18 India, CNBC-TV18, CNN News18, News18 regional channels, CNBC Awaaz, Moneycontrol, CNBC Bazaar, Firstpost, News18.com, and Forbes India have decided to pay particular attention to the lives of those citizens who are going to be most badly affected and impacted by the upcoming shutdown.

As the fact goes true that the daily wage workers are the ones to get most impacted, it is equally true that when Indians unite to fight against a common goal for the good of all, the citizens uplift themselves and emerge triumphantly.

History speaks that the generosity of Indians is unmatched and so is their empathy and determination to resolve an issue. And, by the #IndiaGives campaign, the media brands of Network18 will certainly steer the generosity and the empathy of Indians for the betterment of the fellow Indian workers.

The honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has declared the urgent need to come forward for the protection of the daily wage workers and the casual laborers. So the contribution made by every Indian towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund will be a great way to serve the country during this hour of need.

Network18 heartily urges all Indians to step up and join hands for #IndiaGives and help the country overcome this difficult situation.
