US Air Strike killed 13 civilians in Afghanistan, says UN

      

On Monday United Nation said that US air strike killed thirteen civilians of Afghanistan, among which 10 were children and three adults. This air strike that took place early on Saturday which was the part of a battle between the Taliban and combined Afghans and US forces. This lasted for 30 hours almost in Kunduz that is in the Northern Province where the Taliban power is strong.

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said in the releasing its parliamentary findings of the incidents that the children and family have been relocated by fighting elsewhere in the country. UNAMA said in a statement that it is proving that thirteen causalities occurred around the time of the air strikes. This incident took place in the Telawka area near Kunduz city.

On Sunday, a spokesman for the NATO-led Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan Sgt. Debra Richardson verified that the US forces carried out the air strikes. She said that the mission aim is to prevent civilian causalities, as the Taliban intentionally hides among civilians.

The United Nations in a February report said that a large number of Afghan civilians were killed in the last year in aerial attack and suicide bombings raised. From 2014, Child causalities from air strikes have increased every year.

The U.S. and Taliban press stated in peace talks aimed at the ending of almost 18 years fighting.  According to the U.N., almost 32,000 civilians have been killed and almost 60,000 in the last decade.
