Beyoncé joins the long list of celebrities to raise her powerful voice towards the Black Communities

Now Beyoncé adds her name to the long list of celebrities and other performing artists who have come together earlier this weekend for the One World: Together at Home broadcast. The pop star who enjoys a massive follower base on her platform used that for the good. Beyoncé Draws Attention To The Way COVID-19 Has Affected Black Communities.

Beyoncé directed the statistics to show how the Black Americans have been affected disproportionately by the deadly corona virus. The virtual fundraiser also saw pop stars like Lady Gaga, who is the Global Citizen, WHO, and many other celebs banding together to contribute to the cause.

Talking of the speech with Beyoncé delivered for the purpose, firstly she started off by thanking all the healthcare workers who have been working and helping relentlessly to combat the illness. And, after showing her gratitude to all the workers who have been performing their jobs diligently despite potential safety risks, Beyoncé commented on how the Black Americans are amongst those many who do not enjoy the privilege and luxury to sit and home and work.

Added to this Beyoncé took to address statistics from her hometown of Houston, Texas which revealed that of all the COVID-19 deaths that occurred in the city, 57% of those were African-Americans. Even though Beyoncé’s choice of words was quite distressing but still she went on to offer encouragement in these tough times.

The hazardous effect of the corona virus in the African-Americans started earlier this month, when even Donald Trump and the Surgeon General, Jerome Adams addresses the detrimental impact which the virus has had on the listed communities.

Amidst this, Jerome somehow managed to steal heat from the media as he encouraged the black communities to restrict their drug and alcohol consumption as a part of the preventive measure which some found quite offensive.

The news of the impact of the corona virus on the above-mentioned communities came forward after several black celebrities came out to address some conspiracy theories surround ding the virus. For example, several social media users suggested that the virus was only affecting the white people and not black people, which certainly was not the case.

It was only Scarface, the Geto Boys rapper who stepped out to address these rumors by explaining his own experience with the virus. The rapper revealed how it was important for him to come out with his own story as it was the only way of showing that even the black people are also getting equally affected.
