Rumors Suggest The 30th Anniversary Announcement Of Sonic The Hedgehog For SXSW
Sonic the Hedgehog has attained huge success and also set many new records. This has led to many rumors regarding the future of this franchise. The latest of these rumors is that a major announcement is going to be made during South the Southwest convention.
The rumor has been spread by 4Chan, which is not at all reliable, as suggested by the previous experiences. According to the forum, Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary announcement is rumored for SXSW later this month, from 13th March to 20th March.
As revealed by an anonymous member of 4Chan, ‘Sega’s preparing for a big Sonic reveal at SXSW’. The member also said, ‘It will bring most of the 3D mainline Sonic games to current and next-gen console’.
After the release on the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Sony had made an announcement that PlayStation could be playing Sonic Forces for free during March. Unfortunately, the game didn’t receive much response from the users as fans still prefer Sonic Mania that turned out to be one of the best titles so far.
It has been two years since the release of both Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania.
Most of the time, the leaks of 4Chan turn out to be fake but this one may be true, especially provided that the game has already attained huge success. Until and unless the leak gets confirmed, fans cannot know to get detailed knowledge about the games to be included in the 30th-anniversary collection. But, it can be assumed that all of the Saga Genesis will make their appearance in the collection.
A sequel to the Sonic Mania could also be announced by Sega, which was the most famous Sonic game since the release of Sega Genisis days. There is another rumor that a sequel to Sonic Mania might be get added to the rumored 30th-anniversary collection.
However, no trailer has been released yet regarding the new Sonic title also no teaser has also been released for the anniversary collection by Sega. But, the huge success of the movie, does hint at something new in the work.
