Rosa from Brooklyn Nine-Nine i.e. Stephanie Beatriz and The Tick star Griffin Newman, have reached out to their co-actors to come forward supporting the Black Lives Matter movement by donating a part of their earnings to this noble cause. Like numerous other celebrities, these two beloved actors are also partaking into the cause by donating and raising awareness about the movement.

To show their support against the brutal killing of George Floyd by cops, Stephanie Beatriz and Griffin Newman challenge actors who’ve played police officers to donate to the ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement!

Not stopping just at their words, both the actors have donated a total of $22,000 to the Community Exchange Fund recently. The fund uses their collection to pay bail for the people taken into custody for protesting against police brutality and racial equality.

Since the tragedy was caused by cops, Newman came up with the idea that actors who have portrayed policemen onscreen could come forward offering donations to the cause, conveying a meaningful message to the world.

He wrote on his social media that he had played a detective on two episodes of Blue Bloods almost a decade ago. He asked fellow actors if they make a large sum of money playing cops on TV, and urged them for some donation.

Beatriz soon supported his endeavors and also challenged fellow actors to do the same, on her social media account, by reposting and giving credit to Newman for the idea.

Newman has been actively re-sharing donations to the Community Justice Exchange from multiple people. Some notable donations came from a script coordinator who’s worked ‘on a few cop shows, an actor who played a cop in a Troma movie, and many more. Even some fans that have enjoyed watching such police-centric shows on TV extended their support to the cause by donating as much as they could.
