Cameron Diaz Finally Finds ‘Peace’ In Being ‘Self-Sufficient’ After She Cuts Her Ties With Hollywood

Gwyneth Paltrow this time called Cameron Diaz to join on the latest episode of In Goop Health: The Sessions where she shocked the world by revealing her retirement from acting. She discussed A to Z, from the motherhood, quarantine period with family, and how she found “peace” finally when she decided to say goodbye from acting under the spotlight.

The 40-yar-old actress was at the peak of her career when she came across some serious doubt about the choices she made in life, the skepticism clouded her mind about her future in Hollywood. Her decision for retirement at this stage is the best move with no regrets.

She poured her heart out in the conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow and explained in the latest episode of In Goop Health: The Sessions that how devoting every minute of her life to her work refrained her from “any space for [her] personal life.”

“I just decided that I wanted different things out of my life,” said the Hollywood starlet, implying that so many things were left undone due to the busy shooting schedules. The acting was more than her passion and she loved it as a profession, but continuously delving into one thing made her mind exerted. “I had gone so hard for so long, working, making films and it’s such a grind,” she said. The industry, the burden of work made her younger soul feel excruciating.

The Charlie’s Angels superstar gave so many years to the dazzling big screen and made fantastic blockbusters but she said that she finally found ‘peace’ only when all of the hustle-bustle is gone from her life. “When you’re making a movie—it’s a perfect excuse—they own you. You’re there for 12 hours a day for months on end and you have no time for anything else,” she told Gwyneth.

Gwyneth, who acted as the love interest of Iron Man and later became a part of the End Game war of the Marvel’s movies, can understand the loneliness and dreading feeling of success in Hollywood as Cameron Diaz shared that spotlights and paparazzi sometimes turned her life upside down.

“There’s a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you’re really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there,” she shared in the video, and many times her sentiments were crushed.

As she is turning 40, she wants to nourish her soul with the things she likes and become “self-sufficient” again.
