The offer of Microsoft’s buying Activision Blizzard has been recently approved by the UK regulators. In the month of April, it came to know that the $69bn (£54bn) was rejected by the regulators. Activision Blizzard is a gaming company that owns games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. The watchdog blocked the deal and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it was a matter of concern.

The Competition and Markets Authority also said that they blocked the deal in April because, Microsoft, the Xbox gaming console manufacturer will become one of the strongest companies. They also thought Microsoft would get the opportunity to dominate the emerging cloud gaming industry.

But last month, they revised the deal to sell cloud gaming rights. As per the report, it is also coming to know that the deal is about to be completed between the two companies. Recently, the chief executive of CMA, Sarah Cardell has said that Microsoft won’t have any ‘Stranglehold’ on the cloud gaming. Therefore, users can store all the video games on any preferred device. And that is why, they are agreeing on the deal now.

Sarah Cardell has stated ‘Businesses and their advisors should be in no doubt that the tactics employed by Microsoft are no way to engage with the CMA.Microsoft had the chance to restructure during our initial investigation but instead continued to insist on a package of measures that we told them simply wouldn’t work. Dragging out proceedings in this way only wastes time and money’. Along with that she has also said ‘As cloud gaming grows, this intervention will ensure people get more competitive prices, better services and more choice’.

On the other hand, Bobby Kotick has said ‘We now have all regulatory approvals necessary to close and we look forward to bringing joy and connection to even more players around the world’. Therefore, from this, it is coming to be understood that both companies are ready to finalize the transaction.

After the deal, Microsoft will have control over games like Call of Duty, Candy Crush, and World of Warcraft. From this, Microsoft can give a huge amount of revenue to the company. The deal will be finalized very soon and after that, Microsoft will also get many benefits. On this matter, CMA has said, this deal would make a great impact on the ‘preserve competitive prices’ in the business of gaming. This way, the users will be able to get better facilities and much more choices.

Cardell has added more by saying ‘We’ve made sure Microsoft can’t have a stranglehold over this important and rapidly developing market…We take our decisions free from political influence and we won’t be swayed by corporate lobbying’. This particular deal can bring a huge change in the gaming industry. Therefore, all the gamers from all around the world are eagerly waiting for the deal to be finalized. So, they will be able to see many changes and experience far greater things on the gaming platforms.
