Narendra Modi has won the marathon seven phases general election and became the Prime Minister of India for the second time. After Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Narendra Modi is the third Prime Minister of India who won the Lok Sabha election twice. After a full five year term, Modi returned to his power again being the first non-congress prime minister.

In the official data produced by Election Commission, it is stated that BJP won 303 seats among 542, whereas it won 282 in the 2014 election. The BJP led National Democratic Alliance has won around 351 seats. In this election, the Indian National Congress won 54 seats. But, in 2014 Congress was reduced to 44.

The ruling party who fought on the issue of national security and the hard-line Hindu agenda has received 67% of the total votes. Other parties raised issues such as job crisis and farming suffering. Congress party brought an allegation of corruption against the government for the purchase of French Rafale fighter.BJP has really done better as it has received huge vote shares in several states that include Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana

On Thursday, after the victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that BJP’s win is a unique phenomenon in the history of Democracy. He added that after the country received its independence many elections took place, but the maximum of the voting took place in this election in 40- 42-degree temperature. Modi also mentioned that people have given him the authority to him to lead the country for the next five years.
